Why Resist-a-Flame

When asked, nobody has any doubt that fire is one of the most dangerous, destroying and unstoppable elements and simultaneously the most common and spontaneously started. At the same time, we seem to neglect this hazard in our everyday lives and carry on in ignorance until we, or the ones closest to us, may be faced with this undeniable danger. Recent research reveals that in an average year there are 335 fires in schools alone, 35 pupils are injured and the resultant fire repairs cost the tax payer over 65 Million Pounds.

We often fail to realise that there are precautions we can take to give us a better chance in this uneven battle. This is why Metroplan has invested into releasing a Resist-a-Flame range. Resist-a-Flame line’s unique design does not support the fire and prevents it from spreading. Our team of designers created a range of products fully complying with European fire regulations, all classified as B-SI, d0 according to BS-EN 13501-1 in the European ‘Reaction to Fire’ Test.

The concern for public safety grows every year and legislation gets even tighter for public buildings and construction. The above classification covers the resistance and reaction to fire for construction and building products and identifies which products are safe and can be used in corridors required as primary fire routes and rooms with designated fire exits. This means, whenever you see a Metroplan Resist-a-Flame logo you can be sure this product has been designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the highest applicable standard, so you can be confident that your notice board, covered notice board or showcase are fire resistant and safe to use.
